Administrative Assistant for the Adult Education and WD

 

POSITION:          Director of Adult Education (12 month position with required summer employment) (MacArthur Campus)

 

(Employment in this position is funded totally by the Adult Education Program.  Continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the funding provided through this project.) 

 

 

 

STARTING DATE:  February, 2018

 

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree in administration, education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.  Three years of administrative/management experience is required. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point are required.  Ability to effectively communicate, multi-task, meet schedules, accommodate change, and safeguard confidential information is required.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Adult Education work experience is preferred.

 

 

 

DUTIES:  The Director of Adult Education provides program leadership and direction; plans, develops, implements and evaluates all aspects of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College’s Adult Education program. The Director works to ensure quality adult education services are provided to citizens within the college’s service area.

 

 

 

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience and education as determined on Salary Schedule D3, Rank 02 of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College salary schedules.  Expected salary range is $34,320 to $49,920 annually.

A completed application packet consists of:

 

  A letter of application.

 

  A current résumé.

 

  A completed official College employment application.

 

  Two letters of reference.

 

  Copies of all relevant postsecondary transcripts.  Transcript copies must show the identification of the institution, the identification of the applicant, and verify that the applicant has received the minimum degree requirements as stated in the “Required Qualifications” section.  The person chosen to fill the position is required to furnish official transcripts prior to the completion of the first semester of employment.
