Accountant - Abbott Nutrition US RTR Hub

Position Summary

Provides work direction and guidance to Accounting Techs.

Applies understanding of financial capitalization principles, policies and requirements in support of business.

Interprets CFM and other policies.

Researches alternatives and provides resolutions to issues.

Performs reconciliations, audits work papers and prepares analytics, as well as metrics.

Main Responsibilities

Provides work direction, training and guidance to Shared Service staff as well as new Group Leaders.

Participates in the hiring and development direct reports and administers Performance Excellence.

Interacts with division financial, operations and management on capital project issues, providing guidance as necessary.

Reviews reconciliations, commitment approvals and fixed asset capitalizations to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.

Reports and analyze data; prepare and track metrics. - Enforce internal controls, provides support for SOX and Internal Audit.

Provides administrative support for Project Systems and Fixed Asset module in SAP.

Special projects as assigned.


Operates independently within a varied and changing scope of responsibilities under some supervision.

Executes against tight timelines and changing priorities.

Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Business or equivalent experience.   2-5 years related work experience. Prior experience in Shared Services strongly preferred. Some supervisory experience desired.
