Job Description:

Wells Fargo’s Corporate Controller’s Division is seeking a highly motivated individual Accountant to join the Basel and Regulatory Reporting team. This position will have primary responsibility for preparation, review, and timely filing of regulatory reports including the FR Y-9C/FFIEC 031/041, weekly balance sheet FR2644, deposit reporting FR2900, etc. along with assigning work and providing leadership to offshore resources responsible for assisting with report production. This role will also assist with continually enhancing processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and increase transparency with business partners. Supporting and leading Change Management initiatives will also be a key discipline ensuring that production processes remain robust as new data and reporting infrastructure is implemented.

The Basel and Regulatory Reporting team files reports with numerous regulatory agencies / districts and has many initiatives underway focused on report owner governance, internal controls, data quality initiatives and overall process improvement across the team as the company implements/maintains an enterprise wide COSO-based governance and oversight framework.

This position will routinely interact with SEC reporting, Corporate Treasury, Corporate Credit and lines of business to ensure the Wells Fargo’s regulatory filings are accurate and complete, and consistent with other financial disclosures, including Basel III data.

Specific key duties may include:

  • Preparation, review, and timely filing of regulatory reports including the FR Y-9C/FFIEC 031/041, weekly balance sheet FR2644, deposit reporting FR2900, etc.
  • Assign work and provide leadership to offshore resources responsible for assisting with report production.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance overall department efficiency and effectiveness, reduce errors, and increase transparency with business partners.
  • Manage information requests to/from business lines.
  • Ensure maintenance of proper report documentation.
  • Provide responses to regulator questions and requests
  • Keep current with new regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Keep current with accounting pronouncements and their impact on assigned regulatory reports.
  • Keep up to date on requirements covered by the G&O Framework.
Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting
  • CPA-Certified Public Accountant designation
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory reporting: Federal Reserve, OCC, and SEC
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate governance, financial reporting systems, legal entities, and role of regulatory authorities
  • Essbase and/or SmartView experience
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications

• 3+ years of Regulatory or SEC reporting experience in the financial services industry
