The Commercial Vehicle Dealer Relationship Manager is focused on generating new relationships and growing existing relationships with commercial truck and trailer dealerships within a defined geographic region. The RM will be assigned to a group of commercial truck and trailer dealers who represent strategic growth opportunities to Wells Fargo to include retail referral financing, lending to dealer owned leasing and finance companies, inventory (floorplan) financing, and bank partnership opportunities. Responsibilities include regular client engagements to understand customer needs and develop product solutions to meet them; active calling on F&I directors and managers as well as leasing and finance company managers to ensure WFEF relationship objectives are met; interfacing with dealership senior leaders including Dealer Principals, CFO’s, and Sales / General Managers; and regular internal communications with credit, legal, documentation, syndications, and large deal review teams in order to effectively manage deal flow and process.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of equipment finance or commercial banking sales experience.
  • 3+ years of equipment finance or commercial banking sales and/or relationship management experience
  • 4 year degree required
  • Familiarity with legal documentation including program master loan documentation, customer loan and lease agreements, and inventory credit facilities.
  • Basic knowledge of transportation lending products including retail financing for end-users, program finance products for lease and rental company or dealer owned finance companies, and inventory (floorplan) lines.
  • Knowledge of UCC inventory concepts to include inventory blanket filings and PMSI requirements as well as Article 9 chattel paper perfection concepts.
  • High degree of structuring experience with financial products including loans, TRAC leases, modified TRAC leases, FMV leases, and inventory lines.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding business goals and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Prior experience managing a large geographic territory is preferred
